When we had our first daughter it was so much fun to buy clothes for her. I loved dressing her up and we always had an abundance for her to wear. Our second daughter came and we had tons for her to wear, but I was super disorganized with her clothes so we always went out and bought more clothes for her. As I was sorting clothes the other day I was surprised by the amount of clothes the girls owned, and never wore {Some had tags on them still} and the waste of money it was. Luckily we were able to gift some of the never worn clothing items to friends in our church. But, this time I have a fresh start and I want to limit my spending with Liam and try to only get him what he truly needs. Here are a few of the clothing essentials that I think a newborn to 12 month old needs:
I love Onesies they are so practical and we still use them on Olivia! Carters makes buying baby essentials super easy for you. You can get a 5 pack of short or a 4 pack long sleeve onesies. I recommend buying 10-12 onesies (6 short sleeve and 6 long sleeve, or 5 and 5;)). I would also get 3-4 outfits that are a little more “Formal” for church.

Pants and a Onesie , such a simple and easy outfit for a baby. I would say that around 4-6 pairs is plenty for baby. Our daughter Olivia (16 months) still wears pants and a onesie sometimes… although she has upgraded to jean pants now

Sleepwear is always an essential no matter what age you are! We loved these sleepers when we had Anya they made diaper changes with her so much easier. I would recommend 2-4 of them. Also, a few Sleep and Play outfits are so nice. I prefer the ones that zip over the snap ones. I think the zip ones are easier and quicker to get off when doing diaper changes. I would say around 6-8 Sleep and Play outfits would be plenty!

Baby Socks are so hard for me. I love them, they are useful, but they don’t ever stay on the babies feet! If you have any sock suggestions that don’t constantly fall off and get lost I would love to hear them 4-6 pairs should be plenty… unless you lose them all the time like me!

We have lots of bibs around our house. Since both girls spit up a lot, drooled a lot, and were pretty messy eaters we needed practical bibs that fit all three of these categories! I haven’t figured out the point of buying different bibs for drooling and eating so I got two sets of these bibs and we have been good. They wash up very nicely too

On a side note these bibs might not fit on newborns…

**We have found lots of great deals at Costco on sleepers and cute outfits. They have a few items on the site, but they have way more to choose from at the store! Also, we get packs of diapers and wipes there for a pretty good price!**
